I am trying to connect a laptop with a 802.11b wifi card to a corporate VPN using the Nortel Contivity VPN client. The local wifi AP is a Netgear WGR614 v1 router (i.e. it's 802.11b compliant). From the laptop, I can see and ping the router. I can also see and ping the outside world (tested by pinging a known domain outside).

In thinking about it - I recall an explanation about the IP header where the source IP for packets from the remote VPN server may change during the VPN setup.

Initial flash of DD-WRT firmware is done though Netgear update GUI using a device specific .chk file If the firmware you are loading is before svn11600 then you will need to update the firmware using dd-wrt.v24-11604_WGR614v8-L_mini.bin first before upgrading to a newer build.
